COMPLIANCE AUDITS

Whether it be an existing system, a repair, a refurbishment,
or a piece of new equipment at your site,
our Compliance Audits assess these details and provide guidance.

The last time your equipment went down, maintenance quickly returned it to service. Great. Now the equipment is running. But were the correct repairs done? Were components correctly installed and function tested to ensure they are fail-safe? Was the underlying root cause ever found and indeed fixed? What if the building gas regulator failed? Would the incoming pressure surge overwhelm your equipment? Is your outdoor equipment adequately rated for electrical and environmental hazards? Is the furnace you want to repurpose suitable for the new operating conditions? Really, just how safe are you? These are all difficult questions, and we can help with them.

Whether it be an existing system, a repair, a refurbishment, or a piece of new equipment at your site, our Compliance Audits assess these details and provide guidance. While the system is operating, Compliance Audits are conducted. Often no scheduled downtime is necessary. We review what you have and what you need to comply with current code and safety guidelines, whether it be an NFPA-rated appliance or a boiler. Let us help.

Schedule Compliance Audit Annually

Many combustion equipment owners and users must know that NFPA is responsible for the annual inspection and testing of their appliances upon them. Only some municipalities have annual inspectors assigned or qualified to assess equipment health; some require independent assessments. For these reasons, Rockford Combustion provides code-mandated inspection services. Our independent annual inspections help keep equipment running safely and operating at peak performance.

Our expert inspectors provide peace of mind by testing and verifying your system’s safety interlocks and components. We go in-depth by cycling the power and status of each element to ensure all properly function and are properly wired. Safety valves are tested for tightness and integrity. Components are checked for recall notices and verifying appropriate setup and ranges. All safety devices and components are verified against customer specifications, current codes, and standards requirements.

RS 360 Compliance Audit

This inspection is what NFPA requires annually, verifying that all safety interlocks are present and have not been bypassed or rendered ineffective.  Valve seat leakage testing of safety shutoff valves and manual shutoff valves.  Verification of temperature set points, pressure, or flow devices used as safety interlocks.  All safety devices and components are verified against customer specifications, current codes, and local jurisdictional requirements.  RS360 internal software includes formal reporting and a detailed list of all critical and mandatory findings impacting combustion safety.

RS 360 Full System Compliance Audit

In addition to the Compliance Audit, this inspection records all combustion component data such as make, model, serial, size, etc.  Set point verification of pressure switches and regulators as per system requirements.  System operation and design verification per manufacture and code/standard requirements.  All data collected on each component is provided in detail in the RS360 audit report and in addition to the critical and mandatory findings.

24x7 Technical Support

To help organizations needing combustion emergency support, Rockford Combustion offers 24×7 technical support. Call when encountering an unplanned downtime incident.

In manufacturing, the financial cost of downtime can be significant. Factoring in idle employees, lost production, equipment repairs, catch-up over time, potential fines and lawsuits, and other variables, calculations put the typical downtime costs to industrial manufacturers between $30,000 and $50,000+ per hour. Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) estimates the average downtime lasts approximately 1.5 hours, while other studies suggest a higher average of three to four hours.

Rockford Combustion will be there to support your needs.
